Privacy policy
Martingale collects only what a request needs. This page lists everything the website collects, why, where it is kept, and how to have it removed.
Summary
- The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
- Fonts, images and scripts are served from martingale.io. Viewing a page sends no request to a third party.
- A demo request is an email you write and send yourself. We receive only what you put in it.
- A job application sends your name, email address, chosen role and resume to a private, encrypted store that only Martingale administrators can open.
- We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or build profiles from it.
Visiting the site
Reading this site requires no account and stores nothing in your browser. We do not use cookies, local storage, fingerprinting or analytics of any kind.
The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS Amplify). Like any web server, the hosting layer may record standard technical log entries such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. We use those records only to keep the site running and to investigate abuse. We do not use them to identify or profile visitors.
Requesting a demo
Every “Book a demo” link takes you to the booking page on our site, provided by Google Calendar appointment scheduling. When you book, Google collects the details you enter, such as your name, email address, any guests you add and any notes, and creates an event in our company calendar. We use those details to hold the time, send the calendar invitation and prepare the walkthrough you asked for. Google processes the booking under its own privacy policy. You can also email contact@martingale.io instead; we then receive only what you include in the message.
Applying for a role
The application form on the Careers page asks for four things: your name, your email address, the role you are applying for, and your resume as a PDF or DOCX file of up to 2 MiB. We ask for nothing else, and the form does not collect your IP address, device details or browsing history.
Where it goes
Your application is written to a private, encrypted storage bucket in the United States (AWS, us-east-1). The bucket blocks public access and refuses unencrypted connections. The service that receives the form can only write applications; it cannot list or delete them. Only authorized Martingale administrators can open an application, using their own AWS identity.
What is logged
The intake service writes no names, email addresses, file contents or request bodies to its logs. Its technical logs are deleted after 14 days.
How it is used
A person reads every application. We do not make automated hiring decisions and do not use applications for anything other than considering you for the role you chose. The reference number shown after a successful submission identifies your application if you contact us about it.
The public bench and the CLI
The public bench is a separate site hosted on Vercel. Visiting it is subject to Vercel’s standard hosting logs and its own privacy terms.
The martingale-check command line tool runs on your own machine. It sends fixed prompts to the endpoint you configure, using the API key you supply, and downloads public reference data from the bench. It sends nothing about your endpoint, your key or your results to Martingale.
How long we keep it
- Hosting logs: kept by the hosting layer for its standard, short operating window.
- Intake service logs: deleted after 14 days, and never contain personal data.
- Demo emails: kept while the conversation is active, then deleted on request.
- Job applications: kept until a Martingale administrator deletes them. Email us and we will delete yours.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email contact@martingale.io from the address you used, and include your application reference if you have one. We respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, our legal bases are: your request, when you ask for a demo; steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, when you apply for a role; and our legitimate interest in running a secure website, for hosting logs. You also have the right to object, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.
Data you give us is stored in the United States. If you are outside the United States, sending it to us means it is transferred there.
Security
Connections to the site use HTTPS. Applications are encrypted at rest and in transit, and access to them is limited to named administrators. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so we keep what we hold to the minimum described on this page.
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change what the site collects or how we use it, we update this page and the effective date at the top. The current version always lives at this address.
